Patron Saints for our 2023 PCT Hike

Patron of students, youth groups, backpackers and mountaineers

O Lord, You are the light that guides my feet.  You are the map that gives me direction.  You are the peace that makes me strong.  You are the leader whom I faithfully follow.  May your light illuminate my life and your guidance bring direction.  May I find inspiration in your word and peace in my heart as I follow you.  Amen.

Patron of Mountaineers, Skiers, and Travelers in the Mountains

Lord, we beg You to bless our ropes, staves, and other tools, so in scaling the mountains' heights and precipices, in ice and snow and raging storms, we may be preserved from all accidents and catastrophe, safely reach the summits, and return unharmed to our homes.  Protect us,

Protect us, O Lord, by the prayers of St. Bernard, whom You have made patron of mountain dwellers and travelers; and grant that along with scaling these heights we may also reach that mountain which is Christ; through the same Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel

Patron for Protection

Saint Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the  Heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan, and all the  evil spirits who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen

When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock That is higher than I

(Psalm 61.2)
