In 2010 we set out to conquer all 2650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail as Thru Hikers. Unfortunately due to the heavy snow year,
we were unable to complete our thru hike.
However, the year was not all lost, as we quickly made a decision to flip to the Oregon Coast Trail and hiked the beautiful State of Oregon along the beach (as we waited for the CA snow to melt). This flip led us on a journey we did not expect,.. with the sea at our feet, we saw another type of ecosystem that was incredible and along the way met so many kind people, who we would have never met without our flip.
Now 13 years later we again are set to embark on the PCT,
and once again we are faced with a very heavy
snow year throughout the trail leading to Canada.
This will give us challenges along the way.
Perhaps once again this may not be our year
to complete a thru hike.
Instead we may return to be LASH hikers
(Long A** Section Hikers) and that's okay with us!
We are blessed to even begin.
As we start on this new adventure, we leave behind family,
friends and 11 grand kids who we will miss so much!
Thank goodness for social media to keep us connected.
We will take all before us in stride, letting go and letting God lead the way, knowing many times our plans are not the same as God's plans for us. His plan is always much better and our world gets bigger with His lead. We are excited to see where He takes us on this journey and looking forward to the many people we will meet along the way!
THE JOURNEY IS OUR DESTINATION!!!
